Transport

Public transport is one of the major competences of local or regional governments across Europe.  Access to transport is also central to ensure social cohesion and inclusion. 
 
Most of our towns face increasing congestion and pollution due to increasing car usage, so getting transport planning and policy right at local and regional level is crucial. CEMR works with the EU Commission and specialist networks such as POLIS to develop innovative transport policies.
