Information Society
The shift towards an information society has profoundly changed our way of living and thinking. Information society, with the help of ICT, offers great opportunities to local and regional authorities for enhancing the democratic participation of citizens and increasing the quality and efficiency of public services and local administration. So as to seize these opportunities, local and regional authorities have to change both their mind sets and their work method.
CEMR works in this field by supporting local and regional authorities in meeting challenges and opportunities. Another important part of our work is trying to influence European policies on information society.
