Equality of women and men in local life

The Women and the City Network is organising a seminar entitled "More women, more democracy", from 18 to 20 July, in the city of Quito (Ecuador).

 

The event is aimed at.local authorities in Europe, as well as at civil society organisations linked with promoting women in local decision-making bodies. It will provide participants with a forum for discussing new development co-operation initiatives between local bodies in Europe and Latin America that are members of the network.

 

Topics will include women's participation is local decision-making bodies; gender perspective in urban policies and the setting of assessment tools; and policies on urban security with a gender perspective.
