UDiTE Congress - 11.07.2008

Shaping local solutions for European futures
The Federation of Local Authority Chief Executives in Europe (UDiTE) holds it biennial congress on "European Futures and Local Solutions", in Cardiff, on 4 and 5 September 2008.
 
The UDiTE congress will offer local government.practitioners across Europe an opportunity to learn from best practice to assist in shaping local solutions for European futures. The theme for this year's event reflects the changing nature of the world in which we live. With national economies becoming ever more interdependent, localities in Europe today are profoundly affected by global forces. Across Europe, this new reality can be witnessed in social, economic and environmental arenas.
 
The Congress addresses these crucial social, economic and environmental aspects and will have expert speakers from across Europe, and a series of workshops for more in depth discussion and analysis.
 
The Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) will be represented by its Secretary General Jeremy Smith. Other speakers include the President of UDiTE Adrian Mifsud; the Secretary General of the Assembly of the European Regions Klaus Klipp; the Secretary General Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities Xavier Gizard.
