EU Presidency - 07.01.2014

Cohesion policy and youth employment are among the Greek priorities for its presidency of the EU
Since 1 January 2014, Greece assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Among its priorities for the next six months, it includes topics that are of concern to local and regional authorities and in which CEMR has been involved in the last years:

  • Growth and employment - especially youth unemployment ;
  • The implementation of the new Cohesion Policy (2014-202) with, for instance, a special focus on Community Led Local Development (CLLD) as an essential tool for local rural, urban and peri-urban development.

We welcome this choice of priorities.

The work program of the Greek Presidency is available French, English, German and Greek.
