Emperor Maximilian Prize - 10.04.2014

And the prize for best promoter of local and regional autonomy goes to...
The province of Tyrol and the city of Innsbruck (Austria) invite CEMR members to attend the Emperor Maximilian prize-giving ceremony, on 8 May 2014, in Innsbruck.

This year’s edition will reward Herwig van Staa, president of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities (Council of Europe), for the promotion of local and regional autonomy, through the implementation of European charter of local self-government.

About the Prize

The European prize for regional and local politics is awarded to personalities and institutions of outstanding merit working in the field of European regional and local politics. Special consideration is given to efforts regarding the implementation of the principle of subsidiarity as well as the implementation of the contents of the respective charters of both local self-government and regional self-government of the Council of Europe.
