Governance and citizenship

Join us in the eternal city of Rome for two days of lively presentations and exchanges with over 300 mayors, leaders and representatives of civil society.
 
Together, we will share best practices and brainstorm new approaches to helping local government enhance people’s active involvement in their communities. The conference will include a session dedicated to young European leaders, a discussion on seniors and their contribution to the well-being of communities, as well as a "world café" on town-twinning in the 21ˢᵗ century.
 
Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, former President of the French Republic, former President of the Convention on the future of Europe, President emeritus of CEMR, was invited to give a keynote address on the first day of the conference.
