EU Commission to boost number of women in top positions within its departments
The European Commissioner in charge of budget and human resources, Kristalina Georgieva, intends to boost the number of women in top positions to 40% by the end of her mandate, in 2019.

According to the Commission's latest figures, in 2014, only 15% of director general, deputy director general or equivalent were women. Of the three institutions, Council, Parliament and Commission, it is the European Parliament that performs best in terms of women's representation in top positions.

Women's representation at CEMR

Since 2010, CEMR ensures a balanced representation, in particular between women and men, within its decision-making bodies. With respect to its rules of procedure, 44% of its elected members are women and 56% are men. CEMR is also headed by a woman, Annemarie Jorritsma.
