Climate and energy transition

There are many questions about which role cities and regions should play in Europe’s energy transition. Although their commitment is essential, strategies are needed to successfully involve local and regional players in the process.

Register now and take part in “Making the energy transition happen locally” at the Politehnica University of Bucharest, Romania, on 12-14 June 2019. 

The high-level conference “Making the energy transition happen locally” is co-organised by the European Commission, the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Committee of the Regions, with the support of the Romanian Municipalities Association and the Romanian Ministry of Energy. Furthermore, the Covenant of Mayors will join the discussion and share its experiences on a wide range of topics. 

This event will provide answers on how to accelerate the renewable energy transition at local level and how the Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan contributes to the process.

In addition to that, the conference's 1:1 networking portal gives local and regional governments the possibility to connect with companies, representatives from EU member state governments and EU institutions to initiate promising cooperations opportunities.
