Improve energy management in your municipality (conference in Warsaw, 5-6 October)
The Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR), in cooperation with the Association of Polish Counties, is holding a conference on municipal energy management, in Warsaw on 5 and 6 October 2006.
In the recent past, energy related issues have climbed up the political agenda at European, national, regional and local level. Energy costs have increased continuously and represent a greater budgetary burden to public authorities. The conference will provide the opportunity to help local and regional governments to implement sustainable energy management. The themes addressed at conference are energy planning, energy efficiency, renewable energy solutions as well as financing of energy investments. Special emphasis will be given to the new member states.
Several plenary sessions and workshops will be organised between regional and local governments, energy experts and agencies, as well as representatives from the European institutions. Key speakers include:
