Medium-sized cities cooperate to manage urban growth
How can medium-sized cities (50,000 to 250,000 inhabitants) become -sustainable'? How can they respond to the increasing pressures of globalisation? These were the main issues of the conference Renewing the city - managing urban growth, organised by Europolis on 3 march 2006 in Paris.
Amongst the main speakers were the Home Affairs minister of the Rheinland-Pfalz Region (D) and the Mayor of Rennes (F) as well as experts and local and regional representatives. Three round tables took place on the themes of urban sprawling, sustainable urban development and globalisation.
