Inhaling cocaine in Rome
According to a study by the Italian national research center (CNR), the air in Rome contains only polluting substances but also nicotin, caffein, cannabis and cocain.
The amount of cocain in the air above the Italian capital city amounts to 0.1 nanogram per square meter; it is mainly concentrated in the university La Sapienza area and above the city's public parcs.
Similar studies have found traces of cocain in the rivers crossing large cities like London or Milan, and also on most banknotes in circulation.
