Cross-border cooperation - 02.07.2007
The political and operational stakes of cross-border cooperation (conference 8-9/11)
The Cross-border operational mission is organising a conference on the political and operational stakes of cross-border cooperation, in Lille (France), on 8 and 9 November 2007.
The conference "Cross-border territories: day-to-day Europe" will provide the opportunity to discuss the future of territorial cooperation as an important component of European construction. Significant experiences, two panel discussions and twelve thematic workshops will help to demonstrate that a concrete Europe is underway in cross-border territories. The aim is also to submit proposals at the national and European level for the future of cross-border cooperation, in the form of a white paper.
Close to 800 participants are expected to take part in the conference. Regional policy commissioner Danuta Hübner and Committee of the Regions president Michel Delebarre will take part in the event. Ministers from different European countries and political actors, leaders of territorial cross-border projects will also attend.
