Equality of women and men in local life

CEMR's project on equality in Europe's municipalities is now operational (it was launched in December 2003).

 

The next phase will consist in the gathering of best practice cases in Europe. If you wish to let it know that your municipality has already implemented a specific policy to promote equality at the local level (in transport, urban planning, culture, sport...), we would invite you to contact CEMR's spokesperson for the project, Sandra Ceciarini (details in the right hand banner).

 

The European Commission selected CEMR's programme in the framework of the 5th action programme for equality. It aims at creating a "virtual equality city" that would act as a showcase from which European municipalities could inspire themselves.
