Regional research - 10.12.2007
€10 million of funding available to regional research
More than EUR 10 million of funding is available to local and regional governments to strengthen the research potential of European regions, in particular regional research-driven clusters. The two calls are open until 14 of March 2008.
They concern "Facilitating the emergence of new regional research driven by clusters and mutual exchange of information" and "Providing evaluation facilities for research entities in the EU´s convergence regions and outermost regions".
The two calls have been launched in the framework of the European Union's Seventh Research Framework Programme (FP7). With a budget of almost EUR 54 billion for the period 2007-2013, FP7 is a EU research programme which includes dedicated actions for the regions: the -Regions of Knowledge' and the -Research Potential of Convergence Regions'.
The online Community Research and Development Information Service (CORDIS) provides the official service for participation in the programme.
