Water strategy - 16.11.2009
What contribution can local goverments make to the water strategy in the Mediterranean?
United Cities and Local Governments is organising a conference on the contribution of local and regional authorities to the water strategy of the Union for the Mediterranean, on 23 and 24 November 2009, at Lyon congress centre.
The conference manifests the desire of local and regional authorities to play an important role within the Union for the Mediterranean (UpM) in the domain of water and sanitation. The conference aims to encourage recommendations for the development of a Mediterranean water strategy by the member states of the Union.
It will also aim at identifying the actions of decentralised cooperation likely to be presented at the Union for the Mediterranean and at reinforcing the support from important donors for the projects led by Mediterranean authorities.
More information is available on the website of the Union for the Mediterranean (UpM).
The conference is supported by PLATFORMA, the European Platform of local and regional government for development.
