Local and regional governments as employers

 

CEMR, together with the City of Offenbach, CEMR's German section and other partners, held a two-day workshop on local employment indicators and benchmarking local employment policies on 7/8 June 2004.

 

About 120 experts from Germany, the Netherlands, Finland and Sweden, attended the workshop. The program offered a balanced overview of research, practical examples and the presentation by the European Commission of its employment strategy.

 

The workshop was a successful test for a pan-European benchmarking process, which CEMR is planning to initiate under the current open call for tender of the European Commission.
