Governance and citizenship

From July 2004, the Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) will share newly refurbished headquarters located at rue Belliard, opposite the European Parliament. The telephone, fax numbers and e-mail addresses remain untouched.

 

The purpose of this move is to respond to the extra demands brought by expansion of the EU. 'We expect the building to become a real focal point and meeting place", said CoR President Peter Straub.

 

The new building will provide many practical benefits, such as conference rooms with interpretation facilities and a working space for CoR's members when they come to Brussels. CoR has already expanded its staff numbers, especially in the translation field, to cope with the EU enlargement.
