Cities for Life - 04.11.2016
The global summit you can't miss on inclusion, innovation, and resilience
Have you heard? Cities for Life, the global summit on inclusive, smart and resilient cities will take place on 21-22 November in Paris. Here’s why you can’t miss it:
For two days, hundreds of mayors, local leaders, businesses, NGOs and experts from all over the world who believe in making their city a “city for all” will meet. The “city for all” is a city in which new economic opportunities and technologies tackle inequalities and promote a more harmonious and ecological urban future. Cities for Life will be the opportunity for all major city players to reinvent the “city for all”.
Who will be there?
• Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo
• Mayor of Medellin, Federico Gutierrez
• Governing Mayor of Berlin, Michael Müller
• …and more than 500 other participants from Europe and beyond
What not to miss:
There will be over 30 sessions during Cities for Life. Here is CEMR’s selection of those you shouldn’t miss:
On Monday 21 November at 4 pm, we will be taking part in a workshop on “Integrating Migrants and Refugees in Labour Markets and Communities”. Representing CEMR, the mayor of Munich Dieter Reiter will be speaking.
The next day, on Tuesday 22 November at 10.40 am, we will be at a panel asking one of the most important and current questions of our time: “How can cities address migration?” This panel will be moderated by CEMR secretary general, Frédéric Vallier.
Want to contribute to the discussion? Feel free to share your thoughts with us on social media via the hashtag #localgov4refugees.
After Habitat III, Cities for Life will be the first international meeting of cities to work on concrete solutions for the “city for all”. Don’t forget to register for this global summit on inclusive, smart and resilient cities.
