Energy efficiency

After some two years (September 2003-July 2005) crisscrossing Poland, the "Energy bus" has fulfilled its mission : to inform Polish citizens on all aspects of rational use of energy and the use of renewable energy sources.

 

Launched by the European Commission, the initiative was conducted by a consortium including the Polish energy conservation national agency as well as German and Dutch private companies. The project's partners joined forces to transform a conventional coach into a mobile and attractive exhibition center.

 

In less than two years, the bus visited over 200 Polish municipalities (twice as much as originally planned), attracted over 50,000 visitors (over three times as much as expected) and organised about 40 seminars and workshops on energy.

 

One of the main findings of this experiment is that a traveling bus is an effective way to spread message across municipalities.
