New website to help British local governments improve transport policy

Britain's local governments have a new website designed to help them improve transport policy.

The website is called Local Transport Planning Network; it was launched on 2 July 2004 by the Local Government Association (LGA), the British Department for Transport and the County Surveyors Society.

It will provide UK local transport planners with all the resources, contacts, guidance and best practice required to develop Local Transport Plans.

The Local Transport Planning Network will also provide live web events/conferences and a message board facility.
