This year, the Emperor-Maximilian-Prize 2016 winner is Mr Anders Knape, Committee of the Regions Vice-President, President of the Chamber of Local Authorities of the Congress of the Council of Europe, Vice-President of SALAR and CEMR Executive President.

About the Prize
The European prize for regional and local politics is awarded to personalities and institutions of outstanding merit working in the field of European regional and local politics. Special consideration is given to efforts regarding the implementation of the principle of subsidiarity as well as the implementation of the contents of the respective charters of both local self-government and regional self-government of the Council of Europe.
