Mobility

POLIS the network of European municipalities promoting better public transport, will hold its annual conference in Genoa (Italy), on 2/3 December 2004.

 

This year's theme is "Citizens first : the impact of transport on local society - Optimizing costs and financial resources".

 

Guests to the conference will include EU Transport Commissioner, Jacques Barrot; POLIS president , Enrico Zanelli, as well as representatives of municipalities from several countries (Italy, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, Spain...)

 

The conference will consist mainly of sessions on themes such as mobility and social inclusion, engaging the community in transport planning, transport security in towns, sustainable transport... It will end with a round table on instruments to tackle congestion.
