How to tackle the historical heritage in today's cities? (conference 6-8/09/2006 - Halle)
The International Building Exhibition Saxony-Anhalt 2010 is organising a congress entitled "City and heritage: history as the future of the city", from 06 to 08 September 2006 in Halle (Germany).
 
The congress will focus on how to maintain, renew and reconstruct the historic cities that have evolved and how to ensure their viability. It will address issues such as the preservation of the European city, the new construction in the historic city and the economic potential and tourism.
 
Strategies and best practices for architectural conservation and urban reconstruction will also be presented by representatives of cities from Albania, France, Great Britain, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain and Germany.
 
Speakers will include the German Minister of Regional Development and Transport, the mayors of Halle (Germany), Tirana (Albania) and of Liverpool (Great Britain).
