Local partnership in urban development: a European cities and citizen congress
The city of Leipzig and the German Association of Cities and Towns are organising, together with the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR), a congress on local partnership in urban development (Leipzig, 26-28 April 2007).
The congress will aim to highlight examples of successful local partnership from urban development, social issues, education and economy from different European countries.
Touchstones will be defined that allow to monitor the progress of participatory and integrated urban development in Europe. They will be discussed with representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament, federal and state/regional and local government and formulated as a contribution to the meeting of ministers in Leipzig.
