The European Union must reinforce the role of local government in their capacity of promoters of grassroot democracy and development policies. This is one of CEMR's main comments on Europe's future strategy on the decentralised cooperation budget line.

 

Echoing the Johannesburg world summit on sustainable development, CEMR believes it is of the utmost importance to strengthen the partnership between all levels of government, from international to local.
