CEMR seminar "Organisation and financing of local public transport in the EU" (17/11, Brussels)
The Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) is organising a seminar on the organisation and financing of local public transport in the EU, on 17 November 2005, in Brussels.
The seminar will include exchanges of experience on structures and financing of local public transport in Europe. Participants will also debate the new draft EU regulation on public passenger transport services by rail and road.
In the morning, speakers will focus on public transport in the context of the European legislation. Case studies from CEMR members will also be presented. After lunch, a panel discussion will be held on how regional and local governments can organise and finance public transport in line with European legislation.
Speakers will include public transport experts from various European local and regional governments as well as private transport operators.
