Apply for the EU Sustainable Energy Award
The European Commission invites towns and regions to apply for the 2016 EU Sustainable Energy Award and share their projects for a clean, secure and efficient energy.
The prize recognises outstanding innovation in energy efficiency and renewable energy, for instance, by using urban transport that contributes to a better air quality, by promoting energy-saving in public buildings or by encouraging the use of green tech.
At least three criteria will be taken into account:
The awards ceremony will take place during the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) Policy Conference, on 14-16 June 2016 in Brussels. Nominees will have the chance to present their projects on the EUSEW website, and meet key policymakers and stakeholders at the awards ceremony.
Practical information:
The prize recognises outstanding innovation in energy efficiency and renewable energy, for instance, by using urban transport that contributes to a better air quality, by promoting energy-saving in public buildings or by encouraging the use of green tech.

- excellence in their area and innovation;
- measurable impact and contribution to the EU’s sustainable energy objectives;
- replication potential and social acceptance.
