Clean fuel for transport - 10.02.2009

New handbook for local implementation of clean(er) fuel policies in Europe
How can local government implement clean(er) fuel policies in transport? This is the central question addressed in Biofuel Cities's handbook to be launched on 19-20 February 2009 in Rotterdam, at a workshop dedicated to the topic.

The handbook is based on the lessons learned from real projects which have successfully been completed in European Cities. The experiences of Stockholm (Sweden), Graz (Austria) and Lille (France) are described in detail and offer good practice examples for all cities interested in achieving clean(er) fuel/ vehicles targets.

Local representatives are invited to join the discussion and to participate in the Rotterdam workshop, where their comments will contribute to finalise the handbook.

Background Information

The Biofuel Cities European Partnership is a forum for all stakeholders in the area of biofuel and energy-efficient vehicles. This platform aims to introducte biofuels across Europe, taking into account the complete chain from feedstock to biofuels production, distribution and utilisation in vehicle fleets. It is supported by the European Commission-funded Biofuel Cities project.
